Vegetable Boxes

At Grow Together Farm we supply fresh vege boxes from early November till the end of April

Our Vege boxes

What's in the box?

Our vege boxes consist of 8-10 different vegetable types each week which will change depending on what is in season and available on the farm.

We aim to always include at least one member of the onion family (eg. spring onions, garlic), a cooking green (eg. broccoli, beans, kale, silver beet), root vegetables (eg. carrots, beetroot), a herb, cucumbers and lettuce.

Our vege boxes are designed to provide enough veges each week for a family of 4-6, or for 2 people who eat a lot of vegetables.

Vegetable varieties

At Grow Together Farm we grow a range of vegetables from rare heirlooms to standard favourites. We aim to choose vegetable varieties with the best flavour and nutritional quality. Each week our customers will be emailed in advance with what can be expected in their weekly vege box and we have recipe ideas here on the website to give some inspiration! Customers will therefore have a chance to shop for any extra ingredients in advance that may be needed.

Why sign up for a vege box?

By signing up for our organic vege boxes you will be supporting your local organic market garden here in Ngakuru, Rotorua. By doing so you will ensure that you have continued access to locally grown, quality, fresh organic veges! As a vege box customer you’ll get first priority to all the vegetables we grow (best quality and greatest diversity). No need to worry that produce may sell out at the market or roadside stall before you get there! You’ll get to try a wide range of seasonal vegetables and also learn how to prepare/ cook them as each week a recipe (or two) will be provided to give you inspiration. Last but not least purchasing our vege boxes is a fantastic way to eat more vegetables :)

Vege Box Testimonials

"I always thought organic produce was bug-infested and not at all appealing. I signed up with Grow Together Farm not really knowing what sort of quality I was going to get. Well, I got a lovely surprise every week. All the produce was beautiful. It was always fresh and luscious with not a bug to be seen. I loved getting new veges I had never seen before and Simon always knew how best to use them. I will definitely be signing up for another season of deliciousness."

Ruth

Each week, we enjoyed the variety and high quality of the produce. The inclusion of a herb was appreciated too. The swap box was great. Loved the variety and the opportunity to try veggies that I had used before. A highlight was the Kohlrabi. Pick up was easy and seemless each week.

Angela

Jordyn, your veges were yummy!! Could totally tell they were home grown and organic as flavours were next level.

Frances

"We're so happy we found out about Grow Together Farm. Collecting the veggie box is a highlight of the family week and we can't wait to get stuck in. Supporting local and great people has a real feel good factor and the passion they put into what they do is evident in the quality and colour that come each week. Why would we ever do anything else now?!"

Rich

We have purchased Vegetable boxes for the last two summer seasons, we love the effort, freshness, & variety of supply organic veggies. Being locally grown is another great attribute & we will be continuing our support.

Paulette

"We love the vege boxes! I don't need to think about which veges to buy, the quantity or the quality. It is always spot on! It's also taught me to try different veges, learn new recipes (thanks to the recipe cards) and be receptive to new ideas. On top of all of that, I know I'm contributing to a great initiative, eating the healthiest of foods and know that the world would be in good hands if it was full of people like Simon and Jordyn."
